Showcase in the National Construction Product Register (NCPR) and Become a Trusted Brand

Products whose conformity evidence is authenticated by NATSPEC can now be showcased on the National Construction Product Register (NCPR), a new directory launched to architects, engineers and construction (AEC) professionals.

NATSPEC has promoted construction quality since 1975. Many AEC professionals regard it as the preeminent resource for quality construction practices.

 

With NATSPEC, MGS were able to access and download the latest and up to date information on specific products available in the construction industry and ensure the products met Australian Standards (AS) and National Code of Construction (NCC) via the live website. With the product specification being constantly updated according to the industry standard, the risk of specifying non-standard products for our architectural or interior projects was significantly reduced. Throughout our office we have found it easy to select the required products according to their specific WorkSection.

Following the growing use of non-conforming products in the construction industry and a spate of international tragedies, NATSPEC was approached by various government departments and industry bodies to establish the NCPR.

 

Independent authentication provides both credibility to the manufacturer and material assistance to the specifier. In the current environment of product alternatives and substitutions, I welcome the presence of an independent body to authenticate certificates of performance and/or compliance. The issue of fabricated product documentation is of significant concern to regulators and consumers, so I congratulate NATSPEC on introducing a valuable service to the construction industry.

Launched in late 2017, the NCPR operates amidst an ongoing overhaul in product conformity and compliance practices. Thanks largely to NATSPEC’s integrity, impartiality and professional conduct, the NCPR has become a trusted source of authenticated product information amongst AEC professionals.
